The offshore injury lawyers at Zehl & Associates recently filed a lawsuit on behalf of a Jones Act seaman who was injured while working for Houston-based Ranger Offshore.
The injury occurred when the worker was attempting to manhandle a 200+ pound diving umbilical while on the deck of the MSV Global Orion.
Due to the combination of the strain of the job itself and his supervisor having failed to conduct a job safety analysis (“JSA”) prior to starting, our client suffered a painful full-thickness tendon tear in his right shoulder that ultimately required surgery to repair.
He remains unable to return to work offshore and continues to be in constant pain.
His lawsuit, which was filed in Harris County District Court, seeks the recovery of compensation for past and future medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost earning capacity as well as maintenance and cure.
